Services/Contribution/importance:- The Dept. of Surgery and Radiology has been shifted in the new premises from September 2011. The dept provides Academic, Research and, Extension services. Surgery starts with sound knowledge of Theory coupled with familiarization with the instruments and hands on practice on the cases. This Dept. is exclusively rich in availability of the advanced instruments and high number of surgical cases.
We run the Masters degree program and soon starting the Ph.D. programme. Six students completed their M.V.Sc. Surgery is one of the main discipline in Animal Healthcare, production and, training. It holds crucial position in Equine Industry and Pet Animal Practice. Hence, in addition to ample job opportunities, the Surgeons are opting more for private practice.

Services Provided:
There is a well equipped Animal Hospital with cases referred over a200 km radius.
Further these services are provided through Ambulatory clinic twice a week, Extension and clinical camps through the year.
Other Information:
i) Dept is equipped with modern and advance surgical machines and instrument.
ii) High number of all types of surgical cases referred and treated at this department & hospita.
iii) Students learn surgical skill and experience by operating these high number of cases under the guidance of super qualified staff.
iv) Indoor surgical ward, ICU facility are available for large and small animals.
v) Department offer post graduate degree courses and training programmes to professionals.
